Barrow in Furness: Cavendish Dock. 25325 Marshals a flask train from Ramsden Dock in February 1985. The loco is about to run round to reverse out at Salthouse Junction (note the brake van which will then be on the rear. The barrier wagons are something of a misnomer as there is no barrier between either loco or brakevan. They are marshalled between each flask wagon to spread the total train weight on the Cumbrian Coast viaducts. Each loaded flask transporter has a glw of 160te so with the five other wagons will exceed 900te (entrusted to a single type 2 engine!). The cranes that so long dominated the Barrow skyline were set to disappear, mainly due to the loss of work building surface ships but ship building (or more properly boatbuilding would continue indoors!
